Description:

Because the built environment is a major contributor to climate change—creating 40% of the world’s CO2 emissions—it is the responsibility of architects, engineers, and owners to target net-zero energy and net-zero carbon building designs. This course, part of a seven-part series, examines the term net zero in relation to carbon and energy. The course defines net zero and related terms, concluding with a look at net zero in codes, standards, and certifications and a case study of a recent net-zero building. Each section of this series may be taken as an individual course.
