The Value of NCARB Continuum Education
In most jurisdictions, architects must earn continuing education credits in order to renew their registrations. Additionally, all AIA members are required to have 12 hours of professional development in health, safety, and welfare (HSW) as part of the existing 18-hour annual continuing education requirement for AIA membership renewal.
NCARB's Continuum Education Series is an expertly developed collection of self-study resources that enables architects to cost-effectively and conveniently fulfill their state and AIA continuing education requirements.
Our current Continuum Education program is focused on the continuous development of short-format electronic courses, adding one new HSW course each month to our extensive library. Our archived digital monographs will no longer be renewed for learning units (LUs) through the AIA, but they offer in-depth reference material that is still treasured by many.
The NCARB Continuum Education Program is...
Convenient. You can read them anywhere—during your commute, when you are stuck on a layover, or in the comfort of your home. Once you download your course, you are eligible to complete the online, open-book quiz. Once you've taken the quiz, you'll get your results immediately. If you pass, you can print your own certificate of completion. (And if you don’t pass, you get one free retake!)
Flexible. Completion of a CE course is worth from 1 to 2.5 LUs and allows you to accumulate the required LUs with only a small investment of time. Most credits awarded through the NCARB Continuum Education Series meet AIA's HSW requirements.
Affordable. Both CE courses and our archived monographs are available to NCARB Certificate holders and active AXP participants for FREE! NCARB's Continuum Education Series is truly an affordable way to meet your state and AIA continuing education requirements. There are no seminars to attend, no travel expenses, no time away from the office, and NCARB reports your passing score to the AIA.
A Valuable Resource. All NCARB CE courses are written by experts in their fields and explore topics relevant to your practice.
