In order to ensure that future iterations of sustainable design will respond to the changing requirements of environmental, societal, and economic conditions, research continues to document the successes, challenges, and opportunities to make continuous improvements in this important area of design. This course provides an overview of the advancements, trends, and predictions for the world of sustainable design, relying on studies, reports, and analyses from a variety of trusted sources. This course is part of a six-part series that presents practical guidelines for designing sustainable buildings. Each section can be taken as an individual course. This course was last revised in 2024.
