Description:
Part 2 of this series examines threats driving the need for security planning and design in buildings. It focuses on criminal and terrorist threats with respect to their nature, how they are carried out, and how their effectiveness can be reduced. It describes the basic components of security, presents a framework to help designers think about security in a comprehensive way, and identifies approaches for incorporating security concepts, strategies, and measures into the design process. This course is part of an 8 part series that covers concepts, principles, and processes for incorporating enhanced security into the design of new and existing buildings. Each section can be taken as an individual course.
