Description:
There is growing evidence that sustainable design provides improved indoor environmental quality for building occupants and financial benefits to building owners. This course focuses on the economic aspects of sustainable design, with particular emphasis on the economic principles used to evaluate capital investments in equipment, system upgrades, and various building costs. Also discussed is the the impact of economic analyses on building maintenance and operations from a sustainability perspective. This course is part of a six-part series that presents practical guidelines for designing sustainable buildings. Each section can be taken as an individual course.
